NOW CSA Heavy Duty approved

Recent CEC Code changes related to flexible conduit:

There have been changes in the recent versions of the Canadian Electrical code that relate to the use of flexible conduit in Canada.

Requirement for Hazardous Location:

A new requirement was introduced in the 2018 CEC related to use of flexible conduit in hazardous locations.   Wiring methods where liquid-tight is permitted in hazardous locations now require the conduit to be approved and marked as ‘HEAVY DUTY’.  In order to meet this new requirement the liquid-tight must meet additional tests related crush, tensile strength and fitting pull-out strength.   Conduits and fittings that meet this standard are required to be marked as ‘Heavy Duty’ or ‘HD’.

ANAMET meets this new standard with SEALTITE HTUA and our Compact HD fittings, available from stock in our Canadian factory.

Direct Burial:

Changed in the 2015 version of the CEC, the code now allows direct burial of liquid-tight in Canada provided that it is marked either ‘Direct Burial’ or ‘Dir Bur’ on the jacket.    This change has continued in the 2018 and 2021 versions of the CEC.

ANAMET has 5 SEALTITE conduits that meet this CSA requirement – SEALTITE CSASEALTITE UASEALTITE HTUASEALTITE ZHUA and SEALTITE NMUA
